Conservation Response Unit (CRU) Seblat

In order to prevent increasing illegal activities such as logging and poaching inside the Seblat forest area and support the conservation of the forest as a refuge for wildlife, in 2004 the Bengkulu Conservation Agency (BKSDA), in collaboration with international NGOs, established the CRU Seblat.

The CRU utilizes mahouts and their trained elephants from the Seblat ECC with Forest Police to conduct forest patrols, law enforcement, and HEC mitigation in and around the TWA Seblat.
