In coordination with the WKNP veterinary team, regular health checks and preventative treatments are conducted for all the trained elephant in the 4 WKNP-ERUs. These checks include general clinical examinations, body condition scoring, weighing elephants with digital scale, special ultrasound examinations for reproductive status, blood test for haematology and blood chemistry, anti-parasitic treatments, tetanus vaccinations, and foot care.  In cases where an elephant shows any signs of illness treatments for the elephants of the 4 WKNP-ERUs are conducted.

Furthermore, upon request assistance for veterinary health checks and treatment are provided for elephants in other facilities in Sumatra and throughout Indonesia.
